Our Story

Matrielle was founded by Dr. Maria Giannopoulos, MD, FACOG, a board-certified OB-GYN, surgeon, and lifelong advocate for women’s health. With decades of experience caring for women through every stage of life, Dr. Giannopoulos recognized a deep gap in the wellness industry: products designed for women, but not truly with women in mind.

Raised in a large Sicilian and Greek family as one of eight children, Dr. Giannopoulos grew up surrounded by strong, multifaceted women—four sisters who, though bound by love, each embodied a unique expression of womanhood. Their individuality taught her early on that women’s health can never be one-size-fits-all. Yet throughout her medical career, she saw an industry flooded with generic, low-quality supplements that overlooked the complexity and diversity of women’s bodies.

That realization became her mission: to build a wellness line created exclusively for women—formulated with science, integrity, and intention. Matrielle was born from that purpose: to honor women’s individuality, nurture their vitality, and support them through every chapter of life—from fertility and pregnancy to renewal and longevity.

Rooted in her heritage, Dr. Giannopoulos drew inspiration from the pigna—Sicily’s timeless symbol of fertility and abundance. Just as the pine cone holds countless seeds, Matrielle celebrates the infinite potential within every woman: to create, to transform, and to thrive. The pigna now serves as Matrielle’s emblem—a reflection of resilience, care, and enduring strength.
